Tutorial on Batteries / CIC energiGUNE
Juan Luis Gómez Cámer studied Chemistry at the University of Córdoba (Córdoba, Spain) and got the Student's award (Premio Extraordinario de Licenciatura) in 2005. He received his M. Sc. in "Synthesis, characterization and study of the electrochemical properties of cobalt sulphides as anodic materials for lithium-ion batteries" in 2008. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2010 at the University of Córdoba titled: "Synthesis and characterization of nanometric silicon-based anodes for its use as electrodes for lithium-ion batteries", working with Prof. Julián Morales and Prof. Luis Sánchez, funded by the F.P.U. program of the Spanish Ministry of Science. During his Ph.D. he went to Paul Scherrer Institut (Villigen PSI, Switzerland) for 3-month stay and worked with Prof. Petr Novák (PSI, 2008) where he learned the characterization technique Electrochemical in situ Dilatometry. After his Ph.D. he has worked as a PostDoc researcher at Paul Scherrer Institut (Villigen PSI, Switzerland) collaborating in two projects with companies, where he developed new negative electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries. Nowadays, he is working at CICenergigune as a PostDoc focusing on new negative electrode materials for Li-ion, Li-S and Na-ion batteries.
